The event is hosted by MundoCrypto, a cryptocurrency training academy that operates in Spanish-speaking countries.
On August 27, 7500 guests will attempt to break a world record in the VR category at Madrid's WiZink Center. They will also try to establish a new world record category that includes the Metaverse.
Guinness World Records
The current world record for the most people using virtual reality is 1,867. This record was set in 2017, prior to the existence of the Metaverse.
Guinness will dispatch 15 officials to oversee the event. Attendees will be wearing VR headsets with phone slots. For a completely immersive experience, ear plugs will be used.
The event begins at 17:00 CET on Saturday afternoon and runs until midnight. The seven-hour event will be broadcast in English and Spanish to over 100 countries.
Mani Thawani, the creator of MundoCrypto, said, "Through our online educational courses, my team and I are proud to have played an important role in the mass adoption of a cryptocurrency over the past three years." It is now time for us to bring the crypto community to a special place in our hearts, Madrid, for a one-of-a-kind physical experience in the Metaverse, and why not break a world record at the same time? ”
The event's activities
Attendees can play in the gaming area, an NFT room, a training room, watch crypto personalities presentations, and participate in a Guinness Book of World Records attempt. Networking with crypto investors and entrepreneurs is also anticipated.
