According to the press release, SKT will use K-pop to develop joint content with various international affiliates and enhance the platform's communication functions to promote Ifland as a global social metaverse.

SKT and NTT Docomo, Japan's largest mobile phone operator, have agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on content development, technology, and provider for their corresponding metaverse platforms.

Ifland has also labeled e&, an Emirati-based technology firm, and Singtel, a Singapore-based telecommunications group, as global partners. It also added an in-platform economy in September, allowing users who host meetings on the metaverse to receive point donors from other users, which can be cashed out.

Furthermore, SKT intends to provide content aimed at global MZs by collaborating with various global partners, including overseas universities and global brands.

The press release stated that Ifland had 12.8 million users in Q3 2022. Its local rival, Naver Z's Zepeto, has over 300 million downloads worldwide, with 95% of its users emerging from outside South Korea.

According to the Korea Information Society Development Institute, SK Telecom will control more than 47% of all mobile communications users in South Korea by 2021.

e& in the Middle East and Singtel in Southeast Asia were chosen as e-friend global expansion partners based on region. Furthermore, it is constantly pursuing partnership bargaining with various international telecom operators.

Following the global launch of E-Friend, SKT intends to collaborate with partners to develop specialized features aimed at the region. Similarly, it is opening up new opportunities for telecommunications providers by promoting various metabus events and business collaborations in various regions around the world, such as jointly producing popular local content.
