etaverse Fashion Week was organized by David Cash of CashLabs and featured a range of designers, developers, and enthusiasts from around the world, with over 60 fashion brands showcasing more than 500 looks.
Decentraland, the host of the MVFW, is built on the Ethereum blockchain and started as a pixelated 2D grid before evolving into a 3D universe. This makes it the perfect platform for fashion designers to experiment with new concepts and create truly unique experiences.
The four-day event featured some of the biggest names in fashion, including Selfridges, which is opening its flagship store with an experience with Paco Rabanne + Victor Vasarely's collection. Estée Lauder launches NFT Wearable, which gives users’ avatars a distinctive aura.Bulova released the Computrom watch version, Tommy Hilfiger showcased its spring 2022 collection, and Dolce & Gabbana and Etro showcased their luxury designs.
The world's most talented designers and models showcased their latest collections in a virtual setting, allowing attendees to view the collections up close and personal without having to travel to physical fashion week events. In addition, they were also able to interact with other attendees and even the designers themselves, creating a truly immersive experience.
On the first day of Metaverse Fashion Week in Decentraland, fashion and furniture designer Alexandre de Betak took to the stage for a panel discussion. De Betak is known for his work with high-end fashion brands like Dior and Louis Vuitton, talked about his experience working in the virtual world and how he sees the future of fashion unfolding in this new medium.
"I think we are just at the beginning of exploring what is possible in terms of design and creativity in virtual worlds," said de Betak.
The rest of the week featured a variety of panel discussions and presentations from some of the top names in a virtual fashion.
Overall, the event was a huge success, and it is clear that digital fashion week is here to stay. Looking forward to what the event has in store for us next year!
