njin has officially announced a new partnership with the video game company Square Enix.

The partnership aims to create a digital collection of Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary cards and figures available on the company’s Efinity network.

The physical collection is set to be released in 2023, but consumers can pre-order the commemorative action figure from the Square Enix Store. The deluxe physical product will come with a code redeemable for digital collectibles.

Witek Radomsky, CTO and co-founder of Enjin, said, "We're thrilled to work with Square Enix on such a well-known franchise." Final Fantasy has left an indelible mark on video games since its inception, and we're thrilled to be working with them to bring these characters to life in the digital world."

Radomsky also commented on the impact of the partnership on the gaming and cryptocurrency industries:

"This collaboration opens the door to a new world of digital collectibles that can be used in games." Final Fantasy fans can experience NFTs without knowing they are on the blockchain."

He continued, "It brings more mainstream attention to the power and potential of NFTs for the crypto industry," he added. "It has the potential to lead the next chapter of growth in blockchain entertainment by combining creativity and curiosity."

What This Collaboration Means for Square Enix

This partnership is not one-sided, as it provides numerous benefits to Square Enix. The video game giant not only gains access to powerful NFT technology but also to the ecosystem of over 20 million gamers.

The ease of integration of the company’s NFT product stack will also ensure complete freedom in the creative process, allowing game designers and artists to create without regard for technicalities and limitations. Furthermore, the collaboration allows Square Enix to monetize its popular franchises in an entirely new way.

This collaborative approach is a significant step forward for both companies, increasing interest in the growing popularity and mainstream adoption of NFTs.
