Nick Sunderman, the co-founder of the Centre, announced today a collaboration with Apollo Crypto, an innovative platform transforming how creators are noticed and funded. Through a design contest that begins on September 12, 2022, Centre will use the platform’s blockchain-based contest system, which is sustainably financially backed by cryptocurrency, to find and fund undiscovered fashion talent. The winning designer's work will be displayed at the Centre in Dallas.
"We're thrilled to be partnering with Apollo because they help creators and their ambitions through support from the community and a crypto-based funding system," Sunderman said. "It gives undiscovered creative talent a community to share their talent with, and as a company that encourages creators in the urban apparel space, this alliance is a natural fit to help us grow those efforts."
Apollo is a new cryptocurrency and funding platform built on the Ethereum blockchain. It's designed to provide transparency in voting for contest winners, who get opportunities from $APOLLO'S tokenomics as well as its own Decentralized Autonomous Organization.
The first season of the contest was a huge success, with 12 creators receiving over $153k in prizes. The league now has plans for additional seasons, and we can't wait!
Centre is supporting a special series of three contests for shoe design artists beginning next month, using the platform’s contest platform. Artists who want to compete will submit a profile for the Centre to review. Accepted artists will be given the opportunity to design a pair of all-white Nike Air Force 1 shoes.
The contest community members will vote on each design using a blockchain-based voting system. Winners receive funding for their imaginative projects, a chance to compete in the finals for the grand funding prize, and a contract with the Centre to highlight and sell the winning designer's work.
Henok Crypto's $100M Challenge on YouTube will host online contest coverage and contestant interviews. Henok, a notable figure in the crypto space, is using his platform to highlight contestants, giving them a wider reach and exposure to a larger audience.
Each week, he connects with contestants to give them the opportunity to share their stories with the rest of the world. He has worked hard to create useful content for creators that they can use in this competition and in their future promotional growth.
